Statement of Faith

The Bible

The Bible is God’s infallible Word written and preserved throughout time so that we can be assured we have all that He wants us to have today. Though written by the hands of men, it was lead by the working of the Holy Spirit and is complete, inherent, and fully relevant to us today (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

God: Three Distinct Beings in One Godhead

God the Father ~ God created all things and subjected them to His authority for His Good Glory (Revelation 4:11).

God the Son ~ Jesus Christ was God’s Son, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life and in doing so, was the complete atonement for our sins as required for redemption and fulfillment of the Old Testament (John 14:8-9).

God the Holy Spirit ~ Sent to be our Helper, Comforter, and to help us discern His Truth (John 14:16-17). The Holy Spirit is an active participant in all healing work and in the coaching process.

Salvation

In the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, he went before us, taking our sins on Himself, and overcame death so that we might be able to spend eternity with Him. It is through Christ’s blood alone that we have faith and hope of eternal life in heaven; a place with no tears and no pain. In the end, at His name, all of Heaven and Earth will bow (Acts 4:12).

The Church

The Church exists to encourage and equip the saints for Christian living. The head of the Church is Jesus Christ and as he so treasures us, so we should treasure one another (Ephesians 4:11-16). Though the Church in America has greatly failed the mission to love well, the Church remains a tangible expression of God's love to the world.

A Theology of Suffering

Though we’d love a Christian life without suffering, the Bible clearly shows us that our growth and maturity are dependent upon the trials God allows in our lives (1 Peter 4:12-13). It is through this suffering that we can experience God's love to us as He comes to be with us. Though I’d never wish pain upon anyone, it is into this pain that God reaches down and offers us peace. He is with you. He is with me. Though the waters threaten to overwhelm, God is our refuge and the waters will not overcome (Isaiah 54:10).

Because of this suffering, He sends His Comforter and others to help guide us in the hope, healing, and joy that are available in Him.
